On the fifth day of Navratri, the fifth form of Maa Durga, Goddess Skandamata is worshiped. Skanda is the name of Lord Kartikeya. Skandamata means mother of Kartikeya. Lord Kartikeya was the eldest son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and was the commander of the gods in the Devasura war with Tarakasura. Worshiping Maa Skandamata brings happiness, peace, wealth, child happiness, and salvation. Mother Skandamata fulfills all the wishes of her devotees.
